A curated resource overview
The proposed llms.txt convention uses concise Markdown to describe a project and point to authoritative resources. It is different from a sitemap and does not provide crawler access control.
Prefer quality over exhaustive lists
Highlight canonical documentation, API references and important explanatory material with clear descriptions. Avoid listing every URL or presenting promotional copy as technical guidance.
Treat support as experimental
The convention is not a ratified web standard and adoption varies. Validate the structure, keep links current and maintain normal technical SEO and documentation practices regardless of the file.
